In the quiet stretches of Kilifi, the transition from secondary school to a career is often where dreams go silent. For many young women, the ambition to become a professional is sidelined by the immediate, pressing reality of financial need.

At Tewa Training Centre, we see this gap every year: talented women standing at a crossroads, waiting for a door to open.

For the past two years, School 4 Life has been the hand that opens that door.

Who is School 4 Life?

School 4 Life is a Swiss-based non-profit organization dedicated to transforming lives through quality education. They specialize in the School to Work transition: the critical bridge between finishing a classroom education and securing a dignified livelihood. By focusing on job-readiness, they empower individuals to become financially independent, effectively breaking the cycle of poverty for entire families.

50 Lives: A Legacy of Professional Dignity

The scholarships provided by School 4 Life are a transformative investment in the coastal community. Last year, their generosity allowed 25 young women to enroll in our hospitality programs, covering the tuition and practical costs that would have otherwise blocked their path.

Watching these women grow—seeing their focus sharpen as they master the weight of a professional chef's knife or the nuances of front-office software—has been a profound experience for our faculty. We are deeply moved to share that School 4 Life has renewed this commitment for 2026, sponsoring an additional 25 students.

By the end of this year, 50 young women will have transitioned from the sidelines of the economy into the heart of the coastal hospitality industry.

The Tewa Perspective: Mastery and Resilience

For us at Tewa, these scholarships represent an investment in agency. Through our Dual Training System, these 50 women aren't just students; they are practitioners in the making.

  • The Discipline of Tewa: In our training kitchens, they master international standards of hygiene, precision, and portion control.

  • The Pressure of the Coast: They take those skills into high-end resorts in Watamu and Malindi, proving their worth to the industry through six-month attachments that often lead to immediate job offers.

When you walk through our campus, you don't see beneficiaries. You see professionals. You see a student who no longer looks down when asked about her future, but who looks you in the eye and tells you she is going to be a Head Chef or a Resort Manager.

Our Gratitude to School 4 Life

The true value of these scholarships cannot be captured on a balance sheet. It is found in the homes these women return to. When one daughter becomes a professional, the expectations for every girl in her village rise.

To the team at School 4 Life: Your support restores hope to families and provides the Coast with a new generation of skilled leaders. As our newest cohort begins their journey, we are reminded that

while talent is distributed equally, opportunity is not.

Thank you for helping us close that gap.
